I've been having a frustrating issue where my computer continuously crashes with a 'Kernel_Mode_Heap_Corruption' error, but it only happens when I connect it to my monitor. I've done a lot of troubleshooting on my own—I've uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers twice, cleaned out my computer, reset some settings, and made sure Windows is up to date. Despite all that, it crashes repeatedly. It once ran fine for a couple of hours, but if I tried to play a show, it would crash within about 20 minutes. I was really determined to figure it out, but when I went home for spring break without my monitor or any LAN connection, it hasn't crashed once. I'm wondering if the issue might be with my monitor itself, since that's the only variable that's changed. Is there a way to update the monitor's drivers? Could that really be causing the crashes? Or should I consider getting a new monitor instead of investing in a whole new laptop? Just for context, my laptop is five years old, an Omen Gaming Laptop using NVIDIA drivers and an Intel Core i7 9th Gen.

It sounds like your monitor could very well be the culprit, especially since the problems only arise when it's connected. You might want to check if there are any specific drivers available for it on Acer's website. Sometimes, a simple driver update can solve these kinds of issues. If that doesn't help, considering a new monitor might not be a bad idea if you can find one that fits your budget! Good luck!
When troubleshooting GPU issues, trying different driver versions can help. NVIDIA often defaults to the latest stable ones, but sometimes older or 'casual' versions might work better for specific setups. Don’t hesitate to explore that possibility! Also, check whether the monitor is causing any overheating or other electrical issues.
Thanks for the tip! I’ve mainly tried the recommended drivers, but I’ll look into older versions next time I have access to the monitor.

Definitely check the monitor drivers! If your laptop runs smoothly without it, that's a good sign. It's worth investing in a decent monitor if you decide to go that route.
