My wife's computer suddenly froze and made a loud noise before shutting down. Now, when I try to power it on, the fans spin, but the monitor doesn't show any input at all. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps: reseating the RAM and GPU, using different monitors and cables, and even swapping out the BIOS battery. I also reset the CMOS, pulled out the GPU to test it using the motherboard's HDMI, and tried it with just one stick of RAM. Still, nothing shows up on the display. The fans keep running, and the hard drive LED blinks occasionally. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue, but I'm not sure where to start. I think I might tackle the motherboard first since I was trying to use the HDMI port on it.

I don’t think the GPU is at fault. I tested it in another system and it worked perfectly fine. The issue persists with my wife's computer, regardless of which GPU I use. So, it’s unlikely the graphics card.
It sounds like the graphics card could be the problem based on your description. However, since your CPU doesn’t have integrated graphics, testing the HDMI on the motherboard really won't help. If you can, try swapping in a different graphics card from another working computer to see if that resolves the issue.
