I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 2070 Super to a PNY 5070TI OC. But now, my computer refuses to power on. Initially, I thought it was due to my 650W power supply not being powerful enough, so I bought an 850W PSU and swapped them out, but I still have the same issue. I used most of the original cables, but specifically used the ATX and PCIe 16-pin cables that came with the new power supply. I checked the cables I could see, and they all seem securely plugged in. I did hear an audible "click" sound when trying to turn the PC on, but nothing happens. This was with just the power cable connected and without any peripherals. Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?

If your new power supply is from Seasonic, that clicking sound is likely just the voltage spike protection kicking in, so it’s normal. But if the system still won’t power on, you might want to double-check all connections and ensure no cables are loose or damaged.
Just to clarify, using the original 650W cables with your new 850W PSU can cause issues since the pin layouts may differ. It’s best to use only the cables that came with your new PSU to avoid potential damage.

Thanks for the heads up! I guess I'll replace the remaining cables I reused—I thought they were universal.
