Hey everyone, I need some help! I own an HP Omen 16 gaming laptop that's about three years old. A couple of days ago, while I was watching Twitch, I left to make a cup of tea, and when I returned, it was completely off. Now it won't turn on at all—no lights, no power, nothing. The charging indicator doesn't even light up. I usually keep it plugged in because the battery life isn't great, so I'm not sure what happened. I'm looking for any ideas to troubleshoot this before I take it to a professional since it's out of warranty. I've tried doing some research online, but no luck so far. Thanks a lot for any advice!

Honestly, if it has just stopped working out of nowhere, it might be best to take it to a repair shop. They can diagnose the issue, and if it’s completely dead, they might be able to retrieve data for you. It’s frustrating when tech fails unexpectedly!
Have you checked how comfortable you are with opening it up? If you're okay with that, knowing your specific model number (like 16-b0001ni) can be super helpful. Just take a look inside to see if there's anything obviously disconnected or damaged. If you're not too familiar with the components, just be cautious!
Sure! The model is 16-b0001ni. I can definitely open the back cover and disconnect things if needed, but my knowledge is pretty basic. I know the different parts like the motherboard and SSD, but that's about it.
Exactly! I just can’t believe it just died like that without any warning. It’s so perplexing.
