I'm having a frustrating issue with my internet connection. I bought a used PC from a friend and initially, everything was working fine. However, lately, my download speed keeps bouncing around. It can go from around 150-200 Mbps all the way down to 0, multiple times! I can leave a download running for hours, and it just doesn't seem to finish. I did a speed test, and it showed about 180 Mbps, so I'm confused about what's going wrong. Any advice would be awesome!

Another thing to consider is your storage drive. Sometimes if your hard drive can't keep up, it might slow down downloads on Steam. It would be good to see if this problem happens on another device too!
Have you checked your PC's specs? If it's struggling with processing, like if it’s an older machine, it could affect downloads. But you mentioned you have a decent setup with an i9 and 6900 XT, so that shouldn’t be the main issue.
It might be worth looking at your Wi-Fi adapter. Sometimes they get too hot and cause connection issues. If you can spare about $10, try getting a USB Wi-Fi adapter. If that fixes the issue, great! If not, it may be time to look into your router.
It sounds frustrating! So, when your speed drops, does it come back up again? You might want to run a ping test on Google. Just type 'ping -t google.com' in your command prompt or terminal and check for spikes in latency. That could give you some clues.
