Hey there! I'm an English teacher, and I recently tried using OBS to livestream some lessons. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, and after I uninstalled OBS, my laptop camera just stopped functioning. It's not recognized in Google Meets, isn't listed in my devices, and I can't find it in the control panel either. I've looked up several solutions online, but nothing seems to be helping. My laptop is an HP Victus, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might have a driver issue. Do you know which model of HP Victus you have? That could help figure things out more easily.
You might want to look into a few things:
1. Check your BIOS to see if the camera option is available—sometimes it gets disabled by an app.
2. Look for a dedicated key on your keyboard to turn the camera on and off.
3. If there's no key, see if there's a physical sliding switch near the camera lens that might be triggering it off.
Have you checked the Device Manager? Right-click the Windows logo and see if it shows up there. It might be a quick fix if it’s just a driver issue.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t show up there :c
If the camera has malfunctioned, you might want to consider warranty options or just get a USB camera if it's too far gone. Sorry to hear you're out of warranty though!
Yeah, it was fine before I installed OBS, but now it's just dead. Sadly, I'm out of warranty :c
Try installing the HP Support Assistant, uninstall the webcam driver from the device manager, and then reboot. After that, check for new drivers using the HP Support Assistant.
It's a Victus 15 fa-0xxx.
