My Laptop Connects to WiFi But Has No Internet Access

I'm dealing with an issue on my HP laptop running Windows. It connects to WiFi networks, whether it's my home WiFi or my iPhone hotspot, but I can't get any internet access, even when I try at my college. My house WiFi is fine since other devices like my phone, smart TV, and kids' tablet connect without problems. I've tried changing the IPV4 and IPV6 settings, and even reset my network settings, but nothing seems to work. This problem started about 4-5 days ago out of nowhere. Any suggestions would be great, as I need to finish my homework. I'm happy to provide pictures if needed!

It sounds like your laptop might just be a bit confused. Windows has a knack for thinking there's no internet even when there is. Try turning it off completely and letting it sit for a few minutes before turning it back on. That often clears up these kinds of issues.

Are you getting a normal IP address or an error one like 169.x.x.x? Also, does this issue happen when you use an ethernet connection or only with WiFi? Just curious if it’s a wireless problem or something broader.

It's only with wireless. I tried getting the laptop to communicate with itself, which seemed to work, but I’m not sure if I explained that correctly. My nephew was trying to help me out.

Got it! If it only happens with WiFi, then it might be a driver issue too. Make sure to check for any Windows updates, as those can fix bugs that affect your internet connectivity.
