My Laptop is Making Noise and the Battery is Swollen, What Should I Do?

I have an MSI GS63 7RD Stealth laptop, and while I was gaming last night, I noticed a weird, loud noise like a chainsaw. At first, I thought it was something outside, but then I realized it was my laptop. When I checked, I found that the area around the battery was swollen. I quickly unplugged and shut it down, but it took a while since the laptop is slow. The noise got louder while it was running, and I'm worried it could have exploded if I hadn't shut it off. Is this just a battery issue, or is there more to it?

Make sure to shut it down and store it in a fireproof spot until you can take it to a repair shop for evaluation. Your safety comes first!

The battery is removed, but the noise is still happening.

A swollen battery is definitely dangerous. I've encountered quite a few, and fortunately, none have caught fire on me, but you should remove it ASAP. Your laptop should still work without it plugged in. Just make sure to dispose of the battery safely!
