I'm having a problem with my laptop where the keyboard has suddenly stopped functioning. This includes the mute and airplane mode buttons too. The touchpad and power button are still responsive, and I can use an external keyboard without any issues. I have an HP Zbook Studio G4, and I'm looking for help to get the built-in keyboard working again.
**What I've Tried:**
- Reinstalling the keyboard drivers
- Updating all the Human Interface Devices drivers
- Installing Windows updates, but it says "your device is missing important security updates"
- Ensuring filter keys are turned off
- Running the Keyboard Troubleshooter

Have you checked your device manager to see if the keyboard is disabled? If that's fine, it might be time to open it up and inspect the hardware. Also, try accessing BIOS—if the keyboard works there, it’s likely a software issue.
Just checking in—what model are you using? Could you provide some more details like RAM, SSD, and operating system? It might help figure things out better.
Have you tried holding down the shift key (or shift+fn) for about 8 seconds? It might help with the keyboard lock situation, but I'm not sure if it overlaps with your filter keys issue. Give that a shot!
Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work.

Sure! Here are my specs:
- HP Zbook Studio G4
- 32GB RAM
- 500GB SAMSUNG MZVKW512HMJP-000H1 SSD
- Windows 11
