I recently upgraded two identical laptops, and while the first one went off without a hitch, the second one is now giving me problems. After following these steps:
1. Shut down and remove the back case.
2. Ground myself with an anti-static strap.
3. Disconnect the battery and press the power button to drain any residual charge.
4. Remove the old RAM from the SODIMM slot.
5. Insert the new RAM stick.
6. Reconnect the battery.
7. Attach the back case.
However, when I try to boot it up, the fan spins, but nothing shows on the screen. When I put the old RAM back in, it works just fine. What could have gone wrong during the upgrade, and can I fix it? I've attached a YouTube link that shows the inside of the laptop for reference.

It sounds like you might have a faulty RAM module. A simple test is to swap the RAM from the working laptop to the one that won't boot. If the problems move with the RAM, then you’ve likely identified the issue. If not, the issue could be somewhere else—just keep troubleshooting!

I swapped the RAM back to the original one and it seems like the new one is indeed faulty. Is there a chance to fix that one, or should I just get a new one?
