My Laptop Won’t Boot into Linux Mint – Help Needed!

I recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my old HP laptop after wiping Windows 8, but now the laptop won't recognize the OS. It just tells me to insert boot media instead. I even tried reinstalling from live mode and the installer confirmed that Linux Mint is already installed, but it still can't access it. What should I do to get it working again? Thanks for any advice!

It sounds like you might have accidentally installed the Linux boot loader to a partition rather than the master boot record (MBR). You can fix this, but I think it might be easier to just reinstall Linux Mint and make sure to choose the correct options this time during installation.

That makes sense! But how do I ensure it goes into the master boot record? This is my first time doing this.
