I've been using Debian with GNOME for about four days now, and I'm having trouble with my laptop. Every time I put it to sleep, it refuses to wake up, even when I try to turn it on manually. The only way to get it working again is to fully shut it down and restart. Does anyone know how to fix this?

First off, make sure you’ve set up a swap file on your system. If you don’t have one, that could lead to issues with sleep mode. Have you created a swap file yet?
It sounds like your issue might be related to Nvidia drivers, especially if your laptop has an Nvidia graphics card. I had a similar problem on Pop!_OS where the Nvidia drivers caused sleep issues. I reverted back to my original setup and that fixed it. Also, take a look at 'journactl' for system logs; you can export logs to check for any errors when trying to wake it up. You might need some technical info to troubleshoot further!
