Hey everyone! I'm really stressed because my E drive was working perfectly fine until a few days ago, but after an update, I'm getting an error that it's not connected anymore. I called tech support and even switched the SSD to a different port, but that didn't help. I've reinstalled Windows and reset the BIOS settings, plus changed the onboard device configuration from auto to GEN3, yet I still can't access the drive. It's been four years of animation work on there, and I'm terrified of losing everything. Does anyone have a solution? I'm desperate and looking to avoid a costly data recovery service if possible!

Have you tried installing the SSD in another PC? It could help you check if the drive itself is failing or if it's a compatibility issue.
If you can't see it in Disk Management or Diskpart, that might signal a drive failure. Sometimes drives can show up in BIOS but fail to read or write. You could check if there’s any error code in Device Manager that tells more about the issue.
Yes, it’s not visible in Disk Management or Diskpart, just in Device Manager's hidden section and in BIOS.
You should check if the SSD appears in Disk Management. Right-click the Windows icon and select Disk Management to see if it's recognized there.
No luck—it's not showing in Disk Management, just in Device Manager but it’s greyed out and says it’s not connected.
If you're comfortable with it, you might want to try using DISKPART to see if you can create or manage partitions. It can sometimes help Windows recognize the SSD.
What exactly should I do with DISKPART after that?
You might need to look into slipstreaming the SSD driver into your Windows installation. That could help with recognition issues, especially after an update.

Unfortunately, I don’t have another PC to try that.
