Hey everyone! I'm not super tech-savvy, and this is my first MacBook, which I received as a gift last year. Recently, I've been experiencing some glitches with the touch bar, but I didn't think much of it. However, yesterday when I tried to boot it up, I only heard the startup sound, and the screen stayed dark—I could tell it wasn't completely off, but nothing happened after that. The sound keeps playing until I unplug it. When it's disconnected, I get the no power symbol like usual. I've tried the recommended button combinations and even disconnected it from the power source, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I see a couple of potential solutions here. You might want to try running Apple Diagnostics to check for any hardware issues. Alternatively, this could be a startup issue where your MacBook is booting to a blank screen. Just a heads-up though, since your MacBook is considered vintage by Apple, support might be limited if it's a hardware problem.
Definitely give resetting the PRAM/NVRAM a shot! It can sometimes fix boot issues. If you're not sure how to do it correctly, Apple's support page has a detailed guide on it. Just double-check that you've followed the steps properly since it sounds like you've tried a few combinations already.
Honestly, your best bet might be to just call Apple support directly. They can give you the most accurate assistance for your specific model and situation. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I've tried resetting the PRAM several times, but I'm still stuck with the same issue.
