My Monitor Isn’t Getting an HDMI Signal After Upgrading My Motherboard

Hey everyone, I'm facing an issue with my setup after recently upgrading my motherboard to an ASUS Prime B550M-A Wifi II. My monitor isn't detecting any HDMI or DisplayPort signals when I connect it to my MSI GeForce GTX graphics card. I also tried connecting it directly to the motherboard, but I'm still getting no signal on the screen. The monitor was working perfectly fine before changing the motherboard, so I'm not sure what's causing this problem. I'd really appreciate any help you can offer, thanks!

Hmm, this seems like more than just a simple cable issue. Did you change your motherboard because of hardware failure? Warping or burnt circuits could affect HDMI outputs too. Instead of a straightforward connection, maybe your GPU isn’t seated properly or not receiving enough power. Double-check those connections and ensure the power cable for your GPU is firmly plugged in!

That's a good point! Sometimes, when you install a new motherboard, you might mess with the GPU seating if you're not careful. Also, check to see if the PCIe slots are clean and dust-free.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable or port on the monitor? Sometimes just swapping them out can help. Also, if you can boot into the BIOS with the motherboard's HDMI port, it could isolate whether the issue is with the graphics card or something else.

I haven't tried a different HDMI cable yet—will do that next. I also realized I didn't check the BIOS. If I can get into that, it might tell me if the new board is picking up the GPU.
