I bought a refurbished unlocked Motorola Razr 2024+ from eBay about six months ago, and it worked perfectly on AT&T. Recently, I had to send it for warranty repair because the screen liner developed a bubble. While it was being serviced, I used my AT&T SIM in another phone without issue. After receiving my Razr back, I inserted my SIM, but it only shows 'Emergency Calls Only'. I thought it might be the SIM, but when I tried it in the other phone, it wouldn't recognize it either. After spending two hours at an AT&T store trying new SIMs and resets, I learned that my phone now appears as a Sony device in their system. AT&T claims it's not compatible with their network anymore, even though it worked perfectly before the repair. T-Mobile says my phone is unlocked and they have no record of it. Motorola, however, claims it's locked to T-Mobile and needs an unlock code. I feel stuck in this carrier limbo! Has anyone experienced something similar?

You should definitely call Motorola again and let them know about this mess. It’s strange that they switched your phone to T-Mobile when you’re using AT&T. Maybe you can get them to send you back an unlocked device that works for AT&T. I had a similar issue with an unlocked phone after an update; AT&T can be strict about compatibility, especially with phones not bought directly from them. It's frustrating!
It sounds like the technicians at Motorola might have swapped out your phone's motherboard with one that doesn't support the AT&T bands! This could definitely cause compatibility issues. I suggest reaching out to Motorola and asking them to sort this out, as they should be able to help fix this problem for you. Don't let them brush you off!

Yeah, I can relate to that! When I had issues with my unlocked phone, AT&T told me the same thing—it was a hassle. It's like they want you to buy from them to avoid problems.
