I just finished assembling a brand new gaming PC, but I'm facing a boot issue. When I power it on, the CPU LED briefly lights up before turning off, and then the DRAM LED lights up instead. As an extra note, the RGB for my four ARGB fans isn't lighting up, although all the fans seem to be spinning, including one white LED fan that does light up.
I've already tried some troubleshooting steps:
- I checked to ensure the RAM is in the correct slots.
- I removed one stick of RAM from slot B2.
- I attempted to use the Q-Flash Plus button to update the BIOS, but the PC only boots for a moment before shutting down completely, with no LED indication for the Q-Flash button.
- I also cleared the CMOS by shorting the appropriate pins on the motherboard.
Here are my PC specs:
- AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D
- SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB
- Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5 RAM Kit
- PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC Video Card
- CORSAIR RM850e Power Supply
- GIGABYTE B850M AORUS Elite WiFi6E Motherboard

It sounds like a RAM issue. Usually, you should keep the stick in slot B2 and remove others. That slot is often recommended for one stick setups. Also, check if the DRAM light stays on when the PC tries to boot up.
If the fans are spinning and the DRAM light is on, it might be a good idea to wait a bit longer to see if memory training kicks in. It can take an uncomfortably long time sometimes. Since your fans' RGB isn't lighting, double-check the motherboard connections as well.
Yeah, try keeping it on for about 30 minutes just to rule that out. If it still doesn't work after that, then it’s likely not a memory training issue. Have you checked if all your power connections and components are seated properly?
