I recently got a new iPhone 14 Pro Max after my old one overheated and stopped working. In a panic, I tried to back up my photos since I have three kids and didn't want to lose any memories. I upgraded my iCloud storage plan but my phone failed during the backup. Now, with my new phone, I can't see any backups when I log into iCloud, and it wants me to set up the phone as new. I'm really stressed about potentially losing all my kids' pictures. Is there anything I can do to recover them, or is it too late?

Log in to iCloud.com and see if your pictures are still there. If so, they should return once you set up your new phone. If not, go ahead and set it up. Check if there are any updates available after that, and then try to erase it and see if the backup option comes up again.
It sounds like your backup didn’t finish correctly. Without iCloud Photos or another backup, those images might be lost. Do you still have your old phone? That might help recover some data.
I have a method for keeping all my images safe—I never rely on cloud backups. Just connect your phone to your Mac and download everything you want. It’s quick and ensures you won't lose anything!
Check out the Apple support page for iCloud—you might find some data still available. Using iCloud could save you a lot of trouble. And you probably don’t need that $9.99 plan; only buy what you really need!
Yeah, the upgrade was just what they suggested, so not sure if it's really necessary.

That's not really the best advice! What do you use for backup then? Cloud storage is more secure in many ways. It's always a good idea to have multiple backups.
