I just upgraded my PC with a new RAM, motherboard, and CPU, but I'm having some trouble getting it to boot. I'm using my old case, PSU, M2, and GPU. I haven't touched the PSU, so I doubt the cables are loose—my last build worked fine with it. The problem is that when I hit the power button, the PC shows no signs of life: no fans spinning, no RGB lights, only a constant blinking yellow DRAM light, which lights up when the PSU is on. Pressing the power button does nothing.
Here are the things I've tried so far:
1. Reseated the CPU.
2. Checked all the RAM slots, even tried using just one stick.
3. Verified the power cable to the motherboard—removing it stops the DRAM light from blinking, so I know it's getting some power. Plugging in/out the CPU power cables made no difference, as the DRAM light still blinks whether they're connected or not.
Here are my components:
- PSU: Corsair RMX1000
- GPU: Zotac 5070 TI
- CPU: AMD 9800X3D
- RAM: Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 6000MHz 32GB
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF B850-plus WIFI
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?

Make sure the power button is connected to the correct headers on the motherboard. Sometimes, it might be a case of a faulty power button. You can also try bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver to mimic a button press and see if that gets it going!
It sounds like your BIOS version might not support your new CPU yet. Check the motherboard for its BIOS version—it'll be the four-digit number after the serial number. If it’s not compatible, you may need to do a BIOS flashback to update it. The yellow blinking usually indicates the motherboard isn't registering the RAM before it can post, so trying a different, possibly older RAM could also be worth a shot.
