My new PC is stuck on a black screen during Windows 11 installation—any ideas?

Hey everyone! I just put together my first PC (featuring an ASUS RTX 5080, Ryzen 9800, Gigabyte X870 motherboard, and Crucial 32GB overclocked RAM) and it booted up fine at first. I reached the Windows installation screen smoothly. Once I selected my SSD, the installation started and showed 100% in about 2 minutes. However, right after that, my screen went black and displayed 'DisplayPort no signal.' Now, I can't get anything to show up on my monitor. Also, there's a red VGA light on my motherboard that wasn't there before the installation started. I've read that ASUS monitors can sometimes cause this issue, which seems plausible since it only appeared after I started installing Windows. I've attempted several troubleshooting steps: switching from DisplayPort to HDMI, connecting the HDMI to both the GPU and the motherboard, and even trying an older ASUS monitor, but I still just get a black screen. I haven't rebooted yet, as I'm worried about potentially harming my new components mid-install. It's been over an hour now, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like a hardware issue more than just a monitor glitch. That red VGA light usually indicates that your GPU isn't being detected or initialized properly. You might want to try reseating your GPU—it could just need a good connection to get recognized. Also, keep in mind that the issue could be with the power connections to your GPU or motherboard as well.

Do you really think it's worth reseating the GPU? I was considering doing a full reboot since it’s been almost 3 hours. I'll check back with any updates!
