My New SSD is Causing Game Crashes—What Should I Do?

I recently installed a new 2TB NVMe 4.0 SSD from MSI into my PC. I formatted it and installed my games from Steam and Epic as usual. However, none of the games will load properly; they crash before I can fully enter, although I sometimes make it to the main menu. My motherboard only supports PCIe 3.0, which I thought would just limit speed but shouldn't prevent the SSD from working. I checked the read and write speeds with CrystalDiskMark, and they're normal. I also read that DirectX 12 might not be properly installed since it was missing from my Death Stranding game folder. Can anyone help me figure this out? I'm starting to lose my sanity over this!

Have you made sure your GPU drivers are installed? Sometimes that’s a key step to getting games to run smoothly. If you've installed your AMD drivers, that's great, but double-check that everything is up to date. Also, ensure your BIOS is updated and that you’ve got the latest MSI drivers installed.

It sounds like you've done a lot already! Since your speeds are good and you've updated everything else, I would suggest trying to reinstall DirectX manually. Sometimes, even if it seems fine, there can be components missing that lead to crashes, especially with newer titles.
