My Old PC is Slowing Down – What Upgrades Should I Consider?

Hey everyone! I built my PC back in 2015 and have made a few updates since then, but lately, it's really starting to lag, especially with the games I like to play. I can't even get Marvel Rivals to run smoothly anymore! Here's my current setup:

- Motherboard: B450 TOMAHAWK MAX (MS-7C02)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6 cores, 12 threads)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6GB)
- Storage: 1TB HDD + 500GB SSD
- RAM: 16GB

I've noticed my memory usage is pretty high, around 70% when I only have Firefox, Discord, and Steam running. Task Manager shows I'm using 11.6GB of memory, leaving less than 4GB available. I'm on a budget and could really use your advice on where to start with upgrades!

I recommend upgrading to a 2TB M.2 SSD for your OS. If your motherboard has two M.2 slots, keep your 500GB SSD for extra storage. Modern games are starting to need SSDs for better performance. You should also consider bumping your RAM up to 32GB for smoother multitasking. If your budget allows, upgrading your CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600X and your GPU to a newer model with 12GB of VRAM would also help with performance issues. Lowering settings in games can give you relief too!

Do you think just getting the SSD would resolve the frame drops, or is it more about needing a new GPU?
