Hey folks, I've got a pretty concerning issue with my setup. I've been running an AIO pump-cooled AMD Ryzen 9 7950 on a ROG Strix 8650E-F motherboard without any problems for almost two years. But yesterday, it suddenly shut itself down after 20 seconds. The room temperature was around 26°C at the time. After rebooting, it just shut down again after a moment in Windows. I tried letting it cool down with a fan for 12 hours, but it didn't help. I cleaned out the dust, refilled the AIO pump liquid, switched the SATA power connector, and even changed the thermal paste. But when I boot into the BIOS, I see the CPU temp starting at 84°C and reaching 102°C in under a minute! I think the pump is functioning since I noticed some vibrations when disconnecting the fans. Is it possible there's a faulty temperature sensor? What should I do next? Should I consider getting a new motherboard? Running HWInfo isn't an option since the PC shuts down too quickly. I'm also hesitant to update the BIOS under these conditions.

Definitely sounds like a pump issue. Have you thought about RMA'ing the water cooler? Just make sure you mounted it with the cooler block higher than the pump itself to avoid issues.
Sounds like either the AIO cooler is mounted incorrectly or the pump just isn't working, or maybe both. The fact that it's suddenly shutting down and the temp skyrocketing isn't a good sign.
I find it hard to believe that a mounting issue would show up after 23 months. I mean, the thermal paste looked fine when I checked it, plus the CPU didn't feel as hot as 84°C when I touched it. How can it start at 84°C and then jump up by 20°C so quickly? Is that normal?
I agree with the others here. Your pump is likely broken or mounted incorrectly. By the way, you mentioned refilling the AIO pump liquid—I've never heard of a refillable AIO cooler; tell me more about that!
It's the Pure Loop from be quiet! They actually have a screw that allows you to plug the loop.
Chances are the pump is malfunctioning. A faulty sensor would usually show extreme temps like 206°C or something ridiculous. Starting at 80°C and gradually increasing to 102°C seems more indicative of pump failure or incorrect mounting.
Yeah, I just submitted an RMA request since it's under warranty for three years. And yes, the pump is at the bottom with the radiator on top, so it should have been fine!
