I recently built a PC for myself and my wife, and while our setups are similar, mine has started to lag noticeably over the past few weeks without any new installations. I'm experiencing sluggishness when opening programs and games, plus lower FPS. Sometimes, just dragging a window or moving my mouse becomes choppy, and audio glitches occur, making people on Discord sound like they're in slow motion. The only fix has been to restart my computer.
Even the BIOS feels slow and unresponsive; I need to switch between Easy Mode and Advanced Mode to get it to change menus, which also experience graphical issues.
Running the PassMark Performance test showed my Memory and CPU are in the 5 to 13 percentile, while my wife's machine, which has identical specs, scores in the 80-95 range.
I've tried reseating all power connectors, RAM, and the graphics card with no change. I even verified and re-installed the BIOS firmware, swapped RAM with my wife's computer, and replaced the Ryzen 9 7900x CPU with hers, but nothing seems to fix the issue.
Now, I'm just 30 days past the purchase from New Egg, and while they're closed, I'm not sure if there's anything else I can check or if the motherboard is failing, affecting the FSB communications. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It definitely sounds like something might be up with your motherboard, especially since you’ve tried so many troubleshooting steps. The symptoms you’re describing—lag in BIOS and poor performance in benchmarks—point towards issues with the board's components or connections.
Have you checked the motherboard for any physical damage? Sometimes capacitors can fail and cause all sorts of problems. Also, if you haven't already, try running some diagnostics from within Windows or use a stress-test tool to see how it behaves under load. It could give more clues about what's failing. Good luck!
I had a similar issue with my build a while back, and it turned out to be a faulty RAM stick. I’d recommend running a memory diagnostic test if you haven't already, just to rule out any memory issues. Sometimes, even if it posts okay, one of the RAM modules can go bad. Also, make sure all chipset drivers are up to date.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll run a memory diagnostic test and check those drivers. Appreciate it!

Yeah, definitely check for any bulging capacitors. I had a similar issue where the motherboard looked fine but had an internal fault. If you can, try running a clean install of Windows too, just to rule out any software issues.
