My PC Just Exploded—What Should I Do?

I plugged in my PC, and suddenly something exploded! Now, it won't turn on anymore, and I suspect the power supply is the culprit because it smells burnt after I removed it. If I switch from a Gigabyte 550w power supply to a Corsair 550w, will that be alright?

Wow, that's intense! Definitely check the power supply first. Switching brands should be fine, but make sure the new one has good reviews and is stable. Just so you know, if you continue to have power issues, you might want to invest in a UPS or AVR to protect your system. It's more of an upfront cost but can save you in the long run.

It sounds like your issue is likely due to unstable power supply, especially if you're in an area like the Philippines where power can really fluctuate. Swapping your PSU is a good move, but also consider getting an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) as they can help prevent this kind of damage by stabilizing the voltage. They'll make your components last longer and save you from future headaches! Don't forget to account for a bit of headroom in wattage too.
