Hey everyone! This is my first post, so please bear with me. I'm having some serious issues with my PC that's driving me up the wall. Whenever I try to play games or record them, my computer crashes or resets. Sometimes I can play for an hour or two, but other times it crashes within just five minutes, forcing me to restart. I'm not super tech-savvy; I had a friend help me put this PC together. I've already cleaned out the dust, replaced the thermal paste, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and even reinstalled Windows. Here are the specs:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT 8-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
- RAM: 32.0 GB
- Storage: 1.82 TB SSD (Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB) + 3.64 TB HDD (ST4000DM004-2CV104)
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB)
- Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your system might be overheating. Windows has thermal protections, so it will reboot if the CPU reaches critical temps to avoid damage. Definitely use CoreTemp to monitor those temperatures while you game!
You should also check what power supply unit (PSU) you're using. A 750W is decent, but knowing your temps while gaming is crucial; you should download a monitoring tool like CoreTemp to track your CPU temps. If it's overheating, it can lead to those crashes you're experiencing.
First off, you should definitely check your temperatures. Use a program like HwInfo64 in ‘Sensors-Only’ mode while you're gaming so you can monitor how hot everything is getting. If you don't have a second monitor, try running your game in windowed mode so you can keep an eye on it without having to switch out of fullscreen.
Should I keep playing until it crashes or just watch the temps while I play?
I have a 750W PSU, but I don't know my temps. Which software should I download?
