My PC Keeps Freezing After Updating NVidia Drivers, Any Solutions?

I've got an old setup with a 1050 Ti GeForce graphics card, an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X quad-core processor, and 16GB of RAM (though I've had to reduce it to 8GB for troubleshooting). I've been running into a problem where my PC freezes constantly, especially when trying to play games on platforms like Steam, Battle.net, and Riot Games. Even safe mode doesn't help – the freezing occurs when I try to open those applications.

I've checked with SFC and DISM, and everything seems fine, plus Mdsched.exe gave me no issues. I previously removed one stick of RAM, which seemed to work for a time, but the freezing returned. I've cleared temp files and looked at my DMP files, which suggest that win32kfull.sys is causing the BSOD.

Two days ago, during a game of League of Legends, my PC crashed, and it's been getting worse since I updated to driver version 581.80. I tried rolling back to an earlier version, but the problem persists. Before this update, I didn't have any issues at all. Can anyone help?

You should definitely try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) for a clean installation of a previous GPU driver version. This can often resolve any driver conflicts that might be causing your freezing issues. You can find DDU from a simple web search or on sites like Guru3D.

First off, make sure to grab the dump files from your system. They can help diagnose the BSOD issues. If you're able to boot into Windows normally (or even in Safe Mode), check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any crash logs. If you find them, zip the folder and upload it to a sharing site, then share the link. The more dump files you have, the better for troubleshooting. Also, have you configured Windows to create small memory dumps? That might give you more info moving forward.

Have you thought about the possibility that your video card might be failing? After all this time, that kind of hardware does show signs of wear. If so, it might be time to consider a replacement.
