I've been dealing with an annoying issue on my 7-year-old PC where it shuts down every few months. The only way to get it back on is to mess with the 24-pin power cable. When it happens, the fans don't spin up, and nothing shows on the screen, but I can still hear the system working. I first noticed this issue when I built the PC back in 2018, and I've tried reseating the cable, but it doesn't help in the long run. Has anyone else faced this problem, and what can I do to fix it for good?

Have you considered replacing your power supply or motherboard? It sounds like the cable connection isn't secure, so that might be causing the problem. Make sure the cable clicks in fully when you plug it in. If you haven't replaced the PSU in all these years, it might just be time to upgrade it!
I haven't replaced those components. I've moved around a lot, so I don't think it's the wiring in my house. When you say it needs to click, are you referring to the sound it makes when you connect it?
