Hey everyone! I've been having this frustrating issue where my PC just shuts down randomly while I'm gaming. There's no blue screen or warning, which makes it even more confusing. I recently upgraded to a new, higher-rated power supply, but the problem persists. Here are my specs:
- Power Supply: be quiet! Pure Power 12M 650W (Just replaced)
- GPU: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
- Motherboard: Asrock B550M-HDV
Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this? The PSU should be fine, so I wonder if it could be an issue with the motherboard. I ran some stress tests like OCCT, Cinebench, and Furmark, and didn't experience any shutdowns during those—just during actual gameplay. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to keep an eye on your component temps while under load. Sometimes the VRMs can get hot quickly, leading to shutdowns. If your CPU and GPU temps are good, it might be worth finding a way to monitor the VRM temperatures.
That's definitely a frustrating issue. Since you've already swapped the PSU, did the random shutdowns happen with both the old and new units? If it happened with both, then it might not be the power supply after all.
Have you checked if it's overheating? It's a good idea to monitor your temperatures while gaming to see if that's the cause. Sometimes, even if the CPU and GPU seem fine, the VRM on the motherboard can overheat and cause shutdowns.
Yeah, the temps for CPU and GPU are in good range—about 80 and 70 degrees Celsius, respectively. I’m worried about the motherboard VRM though. Any tips on checking those?
