Hey everyone! I'm having a strange issue with my PC where it randomly restarts without any blue screen of death (BSOD). Instead, I experience a quick freeze, then everything powers down and I'm back at the login screen. The event logs show errors like Kernel-Power 41 (63), 6008, and the occasional WHEA-Logger 18. I've done a ton of diagnostics without any luck, and it seems like the restarts only occur when I'm not running a game. For instance, I can watch YouTube or use Discord, and it'll crash—yet if I keep something like the WoW login screen open, it stays stable. My temperatures are fine; CPU/GPU are usually around 40°C. I've also updated everything, cleaned the system, and even checked the power settings. I've heard about BIOS settings possibly affecting this type of issue and I did have a long period of stability after adjusting them, but now it's back to crashing at random times while idle.

When it crashes, are you usually doing anything specific, like typing or just hands-off? Might help pinpoint the issue if there's a consistent pattern.
That randomness might point to a deeper issue. Logs could be super helpful if you can grab any before the next crash.
Hey, don't forget about logging! Since you aren't getting BSODs and thus no dump files, you might try some diagnostic tools to gather logs and specs. It'll help the community better assist you!
Thanks for the tip! I’m working on getting those logs now, should help with diagnosing the issue.
Definitely share those logs once you have them; they could provide some crucial insights into what's going wrong.
Could this be related to the infamous AM4 memory bug? It might be worthwhile to check if any specific threads are crashing more often than others. If all else fails, moving Windows to your Crucial SSD might improve things too.
Interesting point! I think I will try that once I have a chance. Moving the OS is a bit daunting, but if it could solve my problem, I need to give it a shot.
Make sure to back up your files before moving, just in case! Better safe than sorry.
It sounds like you've already done some serious troubleshooting! Since it seems to crash only when idle, it might be worth considering a memory issue. Did you test the memory with something like MemTest86? That can help rule out RAM problems. Also, if you're not already, you may want to try a BIOS update—sometimes they fix odd bugs like this!
I'll definitely look into that! I've avoided BIOS updates because I'm a bit wary, but if it can help fix the issue, it's worth considering.
BIOS updates can be risky, but if you've done it before without issues, it may not hurt to try this time!

Good question! It varies; sometimes I'm just watching a video and sometimes I'm on Excel. Really seems random, but I’ll keep an eye on it.
