Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a dilemma with my 8-month-old gaming rig. I was just gaming and watching some videos when out of the blue, my whole system powered down—no blue screen, no sparks, no smoke, and thankfully, no power outages in my apartment either. Now, it won't turn back on at all; pressing the power button does nothing.
I've already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps like clearing the CMOS, booting without the CMOS battery, and booting with only the CPU and one stick of RAM. I've also reseated all the PSU cables and even tried starting the PSU with a paperclip, but I didn't notice any fan spinning. I'm pretty convinced it's the PSU at fault, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. For reference, I'm using a Corsair RM1000X power supply. Any insights or suggestions would be super appreciated!

Have you tried re-plugging the PSU connectors? Make sure both the 24-pin and the 8-pin are snug and you hear the click when you seat them properly.
Just as a heads up, I once had a system in RAID0 that shut down when one of the drives failed. I know you probably aren't using RAID, but it's worth mentioning if it helps any.
No RAID for me. Would a bad drive cause the entire system not to boot at all though? Just curious!
Sounds like your power supply might be finished. I had a similar issue not too long ago, and swapping out the PSU fixed it right away!
I was thinking it could be the motherboard instead since my partner had a similar issue last year. Her motherboard lights stayed on, though, while yours don't seem to at all.
Definitely worth checking the motherboard closely. I once had mine give out while launching a game, and a capacitor near the PCI-e slots was blown. Just keep an eye out for anything burnt or discolored.
I’ll check for that! Would a blown capacitor look burned, discolored, or bent?
I actually re-plugged all cables in different configurations (mobo + GPU, mobo + CPU, just mobo), but nothing seems to work 🙁
