My PC Suddenly Shut Down and Now It Won’t Boot – Need Help!

I was playing a game when my PC suddenly turned off without any warning. After that, it only booted up to the MSI BIOS settings. I tried to restart it, but the screen stayed black. I attempted to change the settings to CSM and set the first boot order to my hard disk, but I kept getting the message, "Reboot and select proper Boot Device or insert boot media in selected Boot Device and press a key." Then I restored the defaults, but it just kept trying automatic repair and failed. I've been stuck on this for hours, and I'm tempted to factory reset it, but that isn't working either. I'm pretty new to PCs and could use some guidance on what I might have done wrong or any fixes. To clarify, I haven't physically touched anything in the PC to avoid any damage.

**Update:** My PC is working now, and all my games and files are intact! What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again and to ensure everything is running properly? For now, I'm avoiding turning it off or playing games.

**Update 2:** Looks like I might need a new SSD soon.

It sounds like your boot drive might have failed or is failing. If you can, try booting from a Linux distribution in live mode. This won't affect your current setup, but you'll need another computer to create the boot media. Once you're in the Linux environment, check for your boot drive using the 'Disks' app to look at whether there are any issues. If the boot drive isn't showing up, it might be completely done for.

Make sure your SSD or HDD is prioritized first in the boot options. If it isn't, it could indicate a failing drive, which means you might need to replace it soon.

Glad to hear your PC booted up normally! Just keep an eye on it; sometimes issues like this can be temporary. A similar thing happened to me, and while it seemed fine for a bit, it turned out my SSD was failing. I'd recommend backing up your important files elsewhere, just in case!

If your system is stable now, you might want to make sure you're not saving important files directly on the boot drive. That way, you minimize the risk of losing anything if it fails again.
