My PC Suddenly Shut Off While Gaming—What Could Be Wrong?

Hey everyone, I need some advice. My PC completely shut down while I was gaming, and now it won't turn back on at all. The power button does nothing—no sounds, lights, or fan movement. I checked the power supply by hooking it up to my old machine, and it works fine. The only sign of life is the motherboard; when I remove the RAM and CPU, the mobo lights up, which makes sense since it's not receiving any signals. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare CPU or RAM to troubleshoot further. Here are my specs: 9800x3d CPU, MSI Pro x870E-P WiFi motherboard, ASUS ROG Strix 1000W Platinum power supply, G.SKILL 32GB (2x D5 6000 C36 FX B) RAM, Samsung NVMe drive, and EVGA 3080 Ultra FTW GPU. Any help would be really appreciated!

Make sure to share your hardware details, like motherboard and CPU, when asking for help! It really helps others provide better advice. For your situation, a common step to try is clearing the CMOS on your motherboard. Just unplug your PC first and let it sit for a few minutes to drain any power. After that, plug it back in and see if it boots up. If you’re unsure how to clear the CMOS, there are plenty of tutorial videos online to guide you through the process!

I actually did try resetting the CMOS! My motherboard has a dedicated button for it, but it still won't power on with the CPU installed. It’s the 9800x3d, in case that helps.
