My PC Won’t Boot After Upgrading to a New Motherboard

I recently upgraded my motherboard to a B850M, but now I'm experiencing issues. After the installation and reboot, my PC isn't giving any output. The DRAM light is currently on, and I've tried several troubleshooting steps, such as reseating the RAM and booting with one stick at a time, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else faced this issue?

The DRAM light being on can mean it's taking a while for memory training—sometimes up to 10 minutes. You might also want to reset the CMOS. If you're using two RAM sticks, make sure they are in slots 2 and 4, or if you're testing with a single stick, use slot 2. Also, check if your motherboard needs a BIOS update for the CPU to be recognized properly.

Have you checked if the new motherboard requires DDR5 RAM? If your previous board was using DDR4, that could be the issue. It's important to make sure the RAM type is compatible.

Oh, regarding the BIOS update, many newer motherboards have an easy flashing process. Look for a button on the I/O panel or top of the motherboard. Just give your PC some time for the memory training before jumping into the BIOS settings. If you're not seeing any errors or lights, low chance is BIOS needs an update, so you might have to download the BIOS to a USB and flash it. Check some tutorials to avoid mistakes!
