My PC Won’t Boot: What Should I Check?

Hey everyone! I just moved, and now my PC is acting up. It was originally set up by someone else for crypto mining. I've been using it to play classic WoW on Windows 10 without any issues for a couple of years. After setting it up in my new place, the monitors weren't detecting any input at first, so I reseated the graphics card. Now, I'm getting a message that asks for a boot device. The BIOS is showing one hard drive: M.2: SanDisk SD8SN8U-256G-1006 (244198 MB). I'm not sure if this is the hard drive I need. Should I adjust some advanced boot options in the BIOS or reseat the hard drive? I don't have a Windows recovery disc, and I'm really eager to get back to playing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the issue might be related to how Windows was installed. If Windows was installed on a different hard drive and that drive isn't connected now, your system won't boot. Make sure all the cables are connected properly—check that the power cable from the PSU is attached (it's the flat, wider one) and that the data cable going to the motherboard is secure (that's the flat, narrower one). If everything seems fine, consider checking if the M.2 drive is indeed where Windows is installed. Let me know if you need more help!

Oh, I see! So M.2 isn't the hard drive itself? What's an M.2 actually for?
