My PC Won’t Power On After Cleaning and CMOS Battery Replacement

I recently cleaned my PC and replaced the CMOS battery. During the cleaning, I removed the CPU cooler, applied some silicone, and blew out the dust with compressed air. After putting everything back together, the monitor didn't turn on, which happened to me before after cleaning, so I wasn't too concerned initially. However, I tried everything that worked for me in the past, but nothing helped. I even took the CMOS battery out and put it back, but now my PC is completely dead—no power at all. Before I removed the CMOS battery, I noticed some unusual behavior: the GPU fan would spin when I pressed the power button but then stop, and neither the keyboard nor mouse lights up. After hours of searching for solutions, I decided to ask for help here.

Did you make sure to replace the CMOS battery with a new one? Sometimes putting an old one back in can cause issues. It's best to take out the old battery while the PSU is off, then hold the power button for about 10 seconds to drain any residual power. After that, put in the new battery, turn on the PSU, and try powering up the PC again. Wait a few minutes for the system to boot up properly.

I saw you mentioned pulling the CPU cooler and applying silicone—just be careful with that. If you accidentally got thermal paste on other components or didn't seat the cooler back properly, it could lead to issues. Double-check that everything is connected securely. Sometimes loose connections can create a no-power situation.
