I have an SSD that unexpectedly wiped itself after a normal shutdown. This has actually happened to me a few months ago, but I managed to reinstall Windows and it worked fine until now. Now, I'm trying to reinstall Windows, but the installation always fails at exactly 11%. It sits there for about 10 minutes before giving me the message: 'Windows installation failed.'
I've already attempted using multiple Windows ISO files and different USB flash drives, and I've recreated the installer several times, so I don't think those are the problem. I also booted into Windows PE and ran an SSD check, but I find the results a bit confusing. Additionally, I ran EaseUS surface test, which indicated no bad sectors. Interestingly, after selecting the drive for Windows installation, it sometimes disappears from the list. I've even changed the SATA cable. Any help or insights on what might be happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, 'formatting itself' is really unusual. These drives usually give you some kind of warning before they go bad. Double-check if there's any firmware update available for the SSD, just in case that's causing issues. Otherwise, replacing it might be the best option.
It sounds like your SSD might be failing. I've never heard of a drive formatting itself out of the blue. On top of that, if you're seeing it disappear from the list during installation, that’s a strong indicator something's amiss with the SSD itself. Maybe it's time to think about getting a new one?

But if CrystalDiskInfo shows the health at 100%, how can it be failing? I’m confused about how that works.
