I'm running Kubuntu 25.10 with kernel version 6.17.0-8-generic (64-bit), and I've encountered a problem with all my USB storage devices. When I plug them into any USB port, my computer doesn't recognize them at all. Although the devices appear when I run 'lsusb', they're not getting mounted, and I can't find a mount point for them (no sdX folders or entries in KDE partition manager or lsblk). I searched for solutions and even checked if the storage kernel modules (uas and usb-storage) were loaded, but they aren't. Trying to load the uas module with 'sudo modprobe uas' results in an error about an unknown symbol or parameter. One suggestion I received was that there might be a kernel version mismatch, and I even tried an older kernel (6.16.0-7), but it didn't help. I'm not very comfortable tweaking the kernel settings, so I could really use some advice on this issue!

Have you checked if there's a hardware issue? Just to rule it out, try booting from a live USB. If that works, at least you'll know it's not your hardware that's the problem.
