I've got a Legion 5 laptop and I'm dual-booting Windows and Linux Mint. Whenever I plug in my earphones, I hear a weird noise that sounds like people praying. I've tried closing all applications, adjusting the volume, and even rebooting my Linux, but the noise continues right from the login screen. This also happens when I switch to Windows—it's audible even at the boot logo. I tested with a different pair of earphones but the noise persists. It's subtle in recordings but definitely there. Any insights on what's going on?

Check if your earphones have a microphone and make sure it's muted! Sometimes, earphones can accidentally pick up surrounding radio signals. I've seen it happen where devices pick up transmissions from nearby sources, like police radios or, in my case, a mosque call to prayer. Try adjusting the laptop or the cables to see if that changes the signal strength—it might give you clues about where the noise is coming from.

That radio interference theory makes sense! It would be interesting to see if moving to different locations changes anything.
