Hey everyone! My PC has finally kicked the bucket after 7 years of reliable service, and I'm looking to give my trusty RTX 5070 Ti a new home in a fresh build. I want this new setup to last me another 7-8 years, planning to upgrade the GPU every four years while keeping the rest of the system robust and future-proof without breaking the bank. This will also be my first time switching to AMD after sticking with an Intel Core i7-8700K for almost a decade, so I'd love any advice from AMD users! Here's what I've put together for my new build:
* **CPU:** Ryzen 7 9800X3D
* **CPU Cooler:** NZXT Kraken 360
* **Motherboard:** ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI
* **RAM:** G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64GB (2x32GB, 6000 MHz DDR5, AMD EXPO)
* **SSD:** Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
* **Case:** NZXT H9 (2025)(Black)
* **Extras:** NZXT Vertical GPU Mounting Kit
Any thoughts on my build? Does it look solid for the long term? Thanks a lot!

Honestly, you’re probably overpaying for a lot here, but if you have the cash, it’s still a great build. It should definitely last you quite a while.
The Kraken 360 looks great but might be overkill for your needs. You could consider a B650 motherboard instead of the ROG STRIX X870E-E, just to save a bit on costs. Also, do you really need 64GB of RAM for gaming? Many games run perfectly fine with less.
I’m hoping for it to last 7-8 years and only plan to upgrade the GPU in four. It feels like a bit of a gamble though! Lol.
