Need Advice on Upgrading My Dell Inspiron 5680 Motherboard and CPU

Hi everyone! I'm looking to upgrade the motherboard in my Dell Inspiron 5680 (specifically the 0PXWHK model) along with my Core i5 8400 processor. Currently, I have two 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM sticks, an RTX 3060 graphics card, and I recently upgraded my power supply to a Thermaltake 80+ Gold 600W. I'm not super tech-savvy, but I've managed to upgrade my RAM, graphics card, and power supply by myself. Could someone help me understand how to determine which motherboard and CPU combinations would be compatible with my setup? Thanks a lot for any advice!

Any micro ATX motherboard should work in your case. Just keep in mind that if it doesn't fit, you might need to invest in a new case to accommodate any new parts. But typically, that's a pretty common size that fits well.

You should definitely check with Dell first since their hardware isn't always the same as what you'd find in stores. They have specific requirements for their systems, so it’s good to get the right info straight from them.
