I'm trying to upgrade my old gaming PC, but I'm pretty lost on where to start. This was my first build and I only know that it's getting really slow. Right now, I have a Be Quiet! Pure Rock Slim cooler, Windows 10 Home, an Intel Core i5 9600K CPU, and a ZOTAC GTX 1060 graphics card among other components. I realize my storage needs to switch to SSD, and I'm guessing I need a more powerful graphics card and maybe even an Intel i7 CPU. How can I figure out what parts are outdated? My games are running really poorly nowadays, so any suggestions would be really appreciated!

How comfortable are you with building a PC? Depending on your budget, there are definitely some components you could replace to give your gaming experience a nice boost. It might be worth considering part upgrades before going for a whole new build.

I'm fairly new to building but I’m open to learning! I'd rather try building it myself than spending over $1500 on a new one. I’m ready to watch tutorials and give it a shot.
