Hey everyone! My computer is getting super old, and I'm on a tight budget of €200. I've put together a potential build that exceeds my budget a bit, but I'm willing to buy some parts over time. Here's what I'm currently considering with my old case and 650W PSU:
- **Motherboard**: ASUS PRIME B450M-K II for €63.11 (new)
- **Processor (CPU)**: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 for €50.00 (new)
- **RAM**: Lexar 8GB DDR4 3200 MHz for €19.00 (new)
- **SSD**: Kingston NV3 NVMe PCIe 4.0 500GB M.2 for €43.00 (new)
- **Graphics Card**: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 for €70.00 (used)
I'd love to hear your suggestions and advice! Right now, I'm running Baldur's Gate 3 on this old setup, and it's pretty rough—check out the issues I'm having here: https://imgur.com/a/5HSbjxs. Thanks!

Definitely consider going for second-hand parts for your motherboard, CPU, and RAM—just make sure they're in working condition! I saw an i5 8400 for about €35 and a B360 MSI board for €40. A used RX 580 goes for €50, which keeps you pretty close to budget! Don't hesitate to haggle a bit, too; every euro saved helps!
Just a heads-up, the NV3 SSD uses QLC flash, which isn’t very durable and can slow down over time. I recommend looking at drives with TLC flash instead. Options like the WD Blue SN580 or TeamGroup MP44L are solid choices and reasonably priced!
If money's really tight, you might want to look into using GeForce Now. It's a cloud gaming service that could let you play without needing a powerful setup!
Looks good, but your 8GB of RAM might not cut it. I'd suggest aiming for 16GB if possible! Have you checked the Steam page for BG3's requirements?
Yeah, I know it’s tight. I'm hoping to add another 8GB down the line if I can swing it.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out those options, especially the WD SN5000.
