I'm planning to build a new PC from scratch and want to switch to AMD. Currently, I have an Intel i5 12400f and an RX 6800. With my budget mainly going to an RTX 5080, I can't afford the higher-end AMD CPUs like the 9800x3d or 7800x3d, which are priced around 500 and 450 euros respectively. I'm considering the Ryzen 9700x, which I found for around 290 euros. It seems to perform similarly to the 14700k but consumes less power and has a nice 105w mode. I plan to use a 360mm AIO cooler and I'm looking at some white x670 boards, plus I'll be getting 2x32GB of DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM (Trident Z5 Neo RGB). Does this setup sound good or should I think about making any adjustments? Maybe switching to AM4 or downgrading the motherboard?

The 9700x is a solid pick! You might also want to consider the Ryzen 7700 (non-X), which can be found on AliExpress for around 60% of the price but offers about 95% of the performance. Staying with the AM5 motherboard and DDR5 RAM is a smart move for future upgrades.
I’ve heard of the 7700 but is its performance up to par? I’m a software developer and wonder if the Zen 5 architecture offers any advantages in that field. Plus, I'm a bit skeptical about buying PC parts from AliExpress; warranties are important to me!
