Hey everyone! I'm diving back into PC building after being away from it for about 15 years. I've been living in the Apple ecosystem for both work and home, so I'm pretty out of the loop now. I don't game a lot and I really just want a machine that can smoothly run heavily modded Skyrim SE at 1440p at 60fps or higher. I'm also potentially looking to play some Oblivion remastered if I have the time. I've set a budget of around 1k to 1.2k euros since it's mainly going to serve as a high-end console replacement for me. I've gathered some parts and wanted to get your thoughts—specifically, is there anything seriously wrong with my planned build? Here's a quick look at the parts I've chosen:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Cooler
- Gigabyte B650M GAMING WIFI6E Motherboard
- 32 GB DDR5 RAM
- Kingston NV3 1 TB NVMe SSD
- ASRock Challenger OC Radeon RX 9060 XT
- Lian Li LANCOOL 216 Case
- MSI MAG A650GL Power Supply
Totaling around 1035 euros. Appreciate any advice or changes you suggest!

Looks solid overall! I'd recommend just using the thermal paste that comes with your cooler—it’s usually good enough for most builds. Also, consider a smaller case since you have a micro ATX motherboard. A bigger case is fine, but it might not be necessary. You definitely can find one that fits your graphics card without being oversized!
Haha, good catch on the thermal paste—I’ll remove that from my list! I chose a bigger case just because I'm not super experienced with building. Are there any micro ATX cases you'd recommend that would work well?
