I'm about to buy the parts for my first PC build and want to make sure everything will work well together. Here's what I've picked out so far:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 GAMING OC 16G
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32GB DDR5 RAM (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro with Heatsink (2TB)
- Case: Montech XR
- Fans: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- Power Supply: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M (1000w)
My aim is to create a PC that can handle 1440p gaming without breaking a sweat and manage 4K gaming fairly well too. Also, I need it to be pretty quiet since I occasionally do voice work. I've also made sure to get a surge protector for my setup. I'd really appreciate any advice or critiques on my choices!

Your build looks awesome! It looks very similar to mine but with even better components. I think you might want to consider that a 1000w PSU might be more power than you really need. An 850w should be perfectly adequate, especially if you’re not planning on super high-end overclocking or adding a ton of extra components later.

Is there any real advantage to sticking with the 1000w PSU over an 850w for my setup? If I can downgrade and save some cash, I’d be keen on that. Got any budget PSU recommendations?
