I'm trying to access my late mother's laptop, which is an HP model with an Intel Core i3, likely running Windows 10 and made around eight years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have the password and I don't have a bootable disk. Is there any program or method that could help me extract or reset the password?

Just a heads up, this might be the wrong forum for your question. You might get better help over in the tech support community. But I wish you the best in retrieving your mother’s data.
I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. You could try the Sticky Keys method to bypass the login. You just need a USB drive. Here’s a link explaining how it works: [Sticky Keys Hack](https://www.techtarget.com/searchsecurity/feature/Ethical-hacking-How-to-conduct-a-Sticky-Keys-hack). Additionally, you might consider getting a USB enclosure for the hard drive. That way, you can remove the drive from the laptop, put it in the enclosure, and access the files from another computer.
Sorry for your loss! If you're looking for another approach, you could create a Hiren’s Bootable USB. This tool can help you enable or set a password for the default admin account, giving you access to all user directories on the laptop. It’s a bit technical but worth trying!
You might also want to check if accessing the administrator account is possible. If it doesn’t have a password, you could reset your late mother’s account from there. Hoping you find a way to access her files!
