Need Help Catching Up in My Full Stack Dev Course

Hey everyone, I really need some guidance here! I recently made a big decision to leave my job and pursue my passion for tech. About a month ago, I started applying for programs and got accepted into a full-stack development course. The pace has been super fast—within just a week, we've gone through HTML/CSS, then jumped to JavaScript, and then React JS. Next week, we're set to tackle React Native. I'm feeling totally lost and not really good at JavaScript yet. I think I might need to go back and solidify my understanding of the basics, but I'm unsure if that's the right move. Sometimes in class, I just feel really dumb because I can't keep up. I genuinely love this field and am willing to work hard to become proficient. Any advice would be deeply appreciated! Thanks!

What's the format of your course? If it's a boot camp, they might expect you to already have some prior knowledge. In that case, I'd recommend utilizing TA's and mentors if available. They can provide support and resources that could really speed up your learning process. If possible, dedicate more of your free time to get caught up—study what you can outside of the class to grasp those concepts better!

It sounds like the course is moving way too fast for someone who's just starting out. It often takes a good amount of time to grasp the fundamentals of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS before diving into frameworks like React. I suggest going back to the basics to ensure you really understand those core concepts first. That way, when you jump back into those advanced topics, you'll have a solid foundation. Don't hesitate to ask for help from instructors or seek out additional resources online to reinforce what you learn!

Yeah, focusing on the fundamentals can really make a difference. It's better to take your time now than to struggle later on.
