Need Help Choosing: 9070XT vs. 5070Ti for Gaming

I'm torn between getting the 5070Ti and the 9070XT for my gaming setup. In my area, the 5070Ti is priced at around 1350 AUD (approximately 945 USD) while the 9070XT is cheaper at about 900 AUD (around 630 USD). I'm pairing either card with a 7800X3D processor and want to focus on ray tracing and upscaling in games like Resident Evil: Requiem. I game at 1440p on a 360fps monitor and have been stuck in analysis paralysis for hours. If I have to, I can spend the extra money, but I also want to make sure I'm getting good value. How does the ray tracing and upscaling performance compare between these two cards?

It’s not $450 worse if you really think about it. The price difference should reflect the performance gap. If you're feeling hesitant, maybe you just need to choose the one that feels less like a gamble!

That’s the reassurance I needed! I really don't want to spend that much just to avoid a bit of regret.

If you're looking for bang for your buck, the 9070XT is the better choice. However, if you have the budget for the 5070Ti, you might find it offers a more satisfying gaming experience with less potential for buyer's remorse. Just choose the one you'll feel happier with long-term!

Honestly, I’d say go for the 5070Ti. It seems like you’ve got a preference for Nvidia, and while the 9070XT has great specs, the 5070Ti will probably give you peace of mind as you'll enjoy it more in the long run. Just make sure you don’t regret your choice later!

I initially downvoted your suggestion but then realized you have a point. OP seems to favor Nvidia, so spending that extra money might just save him from regret later.

I get that, but the 9070XT delivers more raw performance for the price. It might actually be the better deal if you're not overly concerned about being tied to Nvidia.

The 9070XT can do some upscaling, but it may not perform well without extra software help for some titles. For ray tracing, it’s usable, but the 5070Ti definitely has the upper hand overall in that area. Just something to keep in mind if you're all about the visual fidelity!

When it comes to raw performance, both cards are pretty close. The 5070Ti shines with better ray tracing and tech support like DLSS, which is more widely adopted. But if you’re comfortable with spending more, it might be worth it for the extra features. I went with the 9070XT and I’m quite happy, but it really depends on what you value more.
