Choosing Between Intel Arc B580, RTX 5050, and RTX 5060 for My First PC Build

I'm in the process of building my first PC and have already purchased most of the components. The only thing left to get is the graphics card. I'm particularly considering the Intel Arc B580 because it has a decent amount of VRAM and is a bit more budget-friendly. The RTX 5050 is priced similarly, while the RTX 5060 costs a bit more. I've heard good things about Intel's drivers for modern games, but there seem to be some issues with older titles like GTA IV and the Portal series. I'm looking for some advice on whether to go with the Intel option or stick with Nvidia.

I'd pass on the RTX 5050. The B580 is great, and it's better than the base RTX 5060. If you're looking for more power and can stretch your budget a bit, the 9060 XT would also be a solid choice.

Just a heads up, there isn’t a 16GB version of the 5060. Only the 8GB variant is available—you're probably thinking of the 5060 Ti.

I feel you on the budget. The 8GB 5060 does come in a bit over $350 when you include taxes. If you can push your budget by $30, that might help!

Have you considered the 6700XT? I usually prefer Intel over Nvidia, especially if I don't need features like NVENC. I find ray tracing overrated since I’m mostly into fast-paced games.

Honestly, if you're not set on that 8GB model, you could look at the 9060 XT even though it doesn't have the best price. It's still one of the best options out there right now if you want solid performance without hitting the used market.

If you're tight on budget, I'd recommend the B580. It gives you the best value for its price. However, if performance is what you’re after, the RTX 5060 is a better option overall.

Definitely go for the RTX 5060 if you want the fastest performance. The VRAM issue doesn't seem significant for what you plan to use it for.

The RTX 5060 at $329 offers the best bang for your buck in terms of performance. Plus, the DLSS technology is a bonus you can count on!

DLSS is still better than FSR, but if you’re open to used cards, I snagged an EVGA RTX 3070 for just $215 not long ago. Might be worth checking out!

That’s great info, but just to clarify, AMD has made strides with FSR4.1 recently. It's getting closer to DLSS4, but it still lags behind a bit in some aspects.
